GameTrailers TV with Geoff Keighley is a television show about video games hosted by video game journalist Geoff Keighley. Originally titled Game Head, on January 25, 2008, the show relaunched under its current name with a slightly different format and further incorporation of GameTrailers hosts, Amanda MacKay and Daniel Kayser. The series airs Friday nights at different times at 12am, 12:30am, 1am, and 1:30am Eastern Time on Spike TV in the U.S. and Canada.

In the present, Donkey Kong must prove he deserves the role through his heroics and by simply guarding the coconut. Alongside various allies such as his best friend and sidekick Diddy Kong and his mentor Cranky Kong, he must protect the Crystal Coconut from various threats, most notably the villainous King K. Rool and his Kremling army who long to steal it in order to rule Kongo Bongo. Oftentimes, Donkey Kong has to juggle his guardian duties with his social life, his relationship with Candy Kong, and his love of gorging on bananas.

MTV's second foray into the soap opera format following the run of the anthology series Undressed, the series was originally called Spyder Web in development. Icons was a documentary TV show on G4 that originally focused on significant people, companies, products, history, and milestones in world of video games. It was relaunched in 2006 and focused entirely on pop culture. It was cancelled soon afterwards. On May 10, 2006, it was announced that Icons was relaunching on June 3 with an episode focusing on J.J. Abrams. The show will feature a broader scope on things and people "men 18–34 care about, admire and emulate." Future episodes would focus on Marc Ecko, The Onion, and Family Guy. This change in format had been suspected, due to the recent episodes about George A. Romero, Frank Miller and the history of the King Kong franchise. The classic video game themed episodes continued to air on the network sporadically until 2008, under the new name of Game Makers.
