Foreign Objects
2001Foreign Objects was a Canadian television series, which aired on CBC Television in 2001. A short-run dramatic anthology series, the series was written and produced by Ken Finkleman. Finkleman starred as documentary producer George Findlay, the same character he had played in his earlier series The Newsroom, More Tears and Foolish Heart. Apart from Findlay, each episode focused on a different set of characters, and portrayed a self-contained story around the theme of human frailty and obsession. The cast also included Colm Feore, Karen Hines, Tom McCamus, Arsinée Khanjian and Rebecca Jenkins. Finkleman's next project for the CBC was the television movie Escape from the Newsroom.

It portrays the 1746 Battle of Culloden that resulted in the British Army's destruction of the Scottish Jacobite uprising and, in the words of the narrator, "tore apart forever the clan system of the Scottish Highlands". Described in its opening credits as "an account of one of the most mishandled and brutal battles ever fought in Britain", Culloden was hailed as a breakthrough for its cinematography as well as its use of non-professional actors and its presentation of an historical event in the style of modern TV war reporting. The film was based on John Prebble's study of the battle.
