Overview
Mainland youngster TANG WAI CHEUNG (KWOK CHUN ON) looks for his future father-in-law LING SING PO (CHUN WONG) with an old Hong Kong address passed on by his late mother. Unfortunately, PO moved a long time ago. With nowhere else to stay, CHEUNG lives with his young uncle TANG KING CHAN (MA KWOK MING). CHAN bluffs to his relatives about his wealth, but in fact, he is seriously in debt. In order to pay off CHAN’s debt, CHEUNG takes any jobs that he can find, and experiences the real world. CHEUNG and his flatmate CHENG PIK WAN (WU, MYOLIE) encourage each other to work hard and slowly fall in love. Meanwhile, a rich man’s daughter LING FUNG (KONG CHERIE, CHERRY) dislikes the arranged marriage her parents set up for her and runs away from home. She somehow ends up settling down in the flat where CHEUNG and CHAN live. FUNG complains about everything in the flat. CHEUNG cannot stand her and fights with her all the time. On the other hand, CHAN is attracted by FUNG’s beauty…

The original broadcast was on the TVB Jade with approximately 45-minute long episodes airing five days a week. The final two episodes were an hour and a half long each, which aired during the weekends. A Chip Off the Old Block tells the story of the articulate businessman Chor Chi, who accidentally travels back in time to the 1960s and meets his younger father, Chor Fan.

Virtues of Harmony
2001Virtues of Harmony is a long-running sitcom from Hong Kong, lasting 322 episodes with two direct seasons. Produced by Tsui Yu On, the sitcom was a TVB production and aired five days a week from September 17, 2001 to December 28, 2002. The series chronicles the comical events and life of the Kam household, a rich family during a prosperous time in the Ming Dynasty of China. The series was inspired by the 2000 TVB comedy drama Colourful Life. Originally planned to be an 150-episode sitcom, an extra 200 episodes were added due to the sitcom's rating success. After the episode finale, a spin-off sequel, Virtues of Harmony II was released in 2003, as well as a spin-off musical, which starred the same cast.

Happy Ever After
1999Happy Ever After is a 1999 Hong Kong grand-production television period drama. A TVB production, the drama was produced by Chong Wai-kin, written by Chan Ching-yee and Choi Ting-ting, and stars an ensemble cast. The drama is set during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor of Late Imperial China's Qing dynasty. The drama tells of a story regarding the struggles of a poor chef and his best friend earning an opportunity to serve the Qianlong Emperor, also befriending the emperor along the way. The drama also places an emphasis on Chinese cuisine with documentations concerning the Manchu Han Imperial Feast. Happy Ever After acclaimed positive reviews from critics and was TVB's third highest-rating drama of 1999, peaking to 40 points. Happy Ever After was re-broadcast on the same channel in 2007 between January and March.
